AF_OSC

Additive oscillator module for SynthEdit. AF_OSC uses wavetables that are built when you first use it.
Waveforms : All the basic waveforms are available : sinus, sawtooth, triangle, square, pulse, noise. Special waveforms : bipolar pulse, band pass filtered noise, bipolar square, asymetric triangle and minblep based waveforms.
AF_OSC can generate bandlimited hardsync using a unique techology developed by VSTLine.
Other features : Initial phase, Phase reset, Pulse width modulation

 

 

The current version of AF_OSC comes in a 9 pin package, 7 inputs and 2 outputs.

When you start up your audio engine first time, the oscillator will generate and cache a 2 MB wavetable that will be used later to generate sound.

 Pin name
Description
 PitchPolyphonic input. 0-10V Range values accepted. Use hidden pin Freq Scale to set the scale to Volt/KHz or V/octave.
For LFO please use Volt/KHz mode, V/Octave mode uses lookup tables and it's less accurate in the lower range.
BPF-Noise - sets the colour of the noise (center frequency of the bandpass filter)
 Pulse Width

Sets the pulse width of the waveform (Square (PW), Pulse (PW), Bi-Pulse (PW), Morph Triangle,Saw-Square, BPF-Noise, Sqr minblep)

Saw-Square - set's the ratio between Sawtooth and Square wave
BPF-Noise - sets the resonance of the bandpass filter

 ActiveThis pin set's the state of the module. If the input it's greater than 0V the module is active, otherwise no processing is done (sleep mode). For best results , connect your VCA-s ADSR output to this pin.
 Sync Phase In This pin is used only for hardsync. If the oscillator is slave , connect the master oscillators Sync Phase Out to this pin for phase syncronisation. When this pin is connected AF_OSC will automagically hardsync to the master oscillator.
 Soft Sync
 Resets  the oscillator phase when the input signal crosses 0V (from neative to positive)
 Initial Phase
 This sets the starting phase of the oscillator. When the oscillator gets a Sync reset from the Soft Sync pin, the phase will be set to this value.
Range 0-10V
 Waveform Sine, Sawtooth, Ramp, Square, Pulse, Bi-Pulse, Triangle, Vintage Saw , Exp Saw , Morph Triangle , Parabola , Saw-Square , BPF-Noise ,  White noise , Saw minblep , Square minblep
 Output This is your audio output
 Sync Phase Out
 If the oscillator is a master, connect this pin to your slave oscillator Sync Phase In to hardsync
